SHE LIKES TO WRITE: a performance lecture with gina young
gina young (she/they) looks back at two decades of creating radical queer feminist work for the stage, including excerpts from their earliest musical she cuts herself / she likes to write (2001) all the way up through her most recent play, This Is Why I Don't Come Home (2023). Will include a Q&A covering anything from making your own theatrical work to what it was like to come out in the 90s. Open to the public.

FEMINIST ACTING CLASS
Open to the public. Join award-winning playwright and director Gina Young (she/they) for a weekend intensive that explores whether the form and content of an acting class can both be made intersectionally feminist. Through monologues, scene study, and communal big picture thinking, we'll flip the script on traditional actor training. You might leave with greater knowledge of women/TGNC/queer playwrights, a monologue that expands your range and type, or a paradigm shift about your career. All genders and all levels welcome!
